Well this week was a little different with 2 of our guests, Scarlet age 3 and Ellery age 1, stealing the show. Although they were not diving they did check out the boat for some swim time and snorkeling and became everyone's best friend. They kept all entertained and in good spirits!
The big guy was spotted from the boat but did not stick around long enough to get in the water with him. Still and exciting encounter for all who have never seen one!
Add a new seahorse sighting and 3 octopus in one night dive and we round out another successful week here at Laguna Beach! Thanks to all!

So Phil, Jan, and Carolyn made their 9th visit to Laguna Beach while bringing along new timer Jeff to the mix. Their luck prevailed and a whale shark was spotted mid-week which reinforced their love of Utila! Luckily as the only divers staying this week they managed to take over the boat and go to all their favorite dive sites including The Pinnacle with their favorite swim-thru.
Thanks for making the week memorable with old friends--see you all again next year!

This week Utila experienced an influx of people as 2 annual events coincided. The Sun Jam festival took place last weekend and the flurry continued as Carnival approached culminating in the largest concert event to ever be held on Utila--Eric Donaldson. For those of you not familiar with the name, Eric is one of the first reggae legends producing such hits as "Land of My Birth" and "Cherry Oh Baby". All of Utila and surrounding Honduras came to see this small island put on a big concert!
We thank all of the guests who wandered in and out this past week to experience Utila at its finest and of course to our steadfast divers Jim and Joyce who continued to dive daily in spite of all the craziness. Hope to see you again soon!

What a windy week! Good for keeping the sand flies away but makes for a bumpier ride than usual. No one seemed to have a problem with hanging in there for every single dive. I think it is a record--set by Sun Coast Scuba! Thanks guys!
Although the whale shark was elusive, many creatures came out of the woodworks including our batfish that has been MIA for a few weeks, several turtles (loggerhead and green), and spotted eagle rays.
Notice: The lionfish have infiltrated! Two have been caught and 1 more is on the loose. We will keep you updated on this invasive species as the specimens appear.

They're baaaaaaaaack! So the infamous whale shark has returned. This week every guest had the opportunity to snorkel with him/her. Many took photos and video of their amazing experience--what a great birthday present for Michelle (don't worry we won't put your age on the internet).
Also spotted was a large nurse shark, spotted eagle ray, and a new seahorse..
Thanks to the Dive Shop Too group led by Alex and the divers on the Show Time for a fantastic week of diving at Laguna Beach. We hope to see you again next year!
